The Day After The Day of The Doctor   5 comments

Yesterday was, as I am sure you know, the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, the longest running sci-fi TV show ever.  The occasion was capped off with a brand new special, Day of the Doctor.  The special was so very very good (I’ve already watched it twice), but now that half a day has passed I can sit down and think about what wasn’t perfect about it.  A criticism, yes, but a loving one.

If you haven’t seen the special yet, now is your chance to turn back.  Here is your spoiler warning!  If you have seen it you can find my thoughts behind the cut.  And if you haven’t watched the series, you will have no idea what I am talking about!

It Came From Netflix Instant!!! British SciFi TV   5 comments

Time for anther installment of It Came From Netflix Instant!!! Where I help you to wade through the content on Netflix Instant and find out what is worth watching.  Today I am going to take a look at a few short run British SciFi TV shows that you will find yourself marathoning through.

The Number of Movies/Shows Announced at Comic-Con is making my Head Spin   2 comments

I wasn’t able to make it to the San Diego Comic-Con last week, making that 26 years in a row I’ve had to miss it.  Maybe next year.

At the con Marvel comics gave official word on their five up coming projects, DC released footage from The Man of Steel, Peter Jackson previewed the Hobbit and made mention of talk of making the book three movies rather than two, Godzilla got a trailer, and the attendees were treated to new footage and information about After Earth, Oz: The Great and Powerful, The Host, Elysium, Looper, Frankenweenie, Pacific Rim, ParaNorman, Wreck-It Ralph, Breaking Dawn 2, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Community, Futurama, Defiance, Once Upon a Time, Fringe, Falling Skies, How to Train Your Dragon The Series, Clone Wars, Nick’s TMNT show, Legend of Korra, 666 Park Avenue, Arrow, The Following, Revolution, Cult and for good measure some comic book stuff too.

And don’t forget the sexy cross gender steam-punk comic book cosplay!  Which is apparently a thing. Via GameFob

Ok, I am officially over hyped.

A few years ago the I waited with great anticipation for the announcements news that came out of SDCC.  Now there is such a massive hype machine driving the event that I have trouble keeping track of it all and I find that I actually care less about each new thing.
